Water restrictions cancel monster kettle event.

Disappointment for monster kettle fans this week with news that the upcoming Monster Kettle Showdown tour has been cancelled due to ongoing water restrictions.

Event organisers failed to obtain the necessary water permits after authorities raised concerns about the volume of water required to stage the event.

When filled to the brim, each of the event’s sixty steam driven, car crushing monster kettles is capable of vaporising the equivalent of a small town’s annual water supply in less than 20 minutes.

One of the many fans angered by the cancellation was Dwayne Kirby who voiced his outrage at the double standards of authorities.

“What they’re saying to the community is it’s fine to use our scarce water resources for irrigating crops but not for crushing cars – it’s an outrage.”

Dwayne is hoping that fears of a cheese shortage won’t force promoters to cancel the Monster Sandwich Grill Showdown scheduled for later this year.
